Product Overview
DID YOU KNOW THE BOMB POP WAS INVENTED IN KC?
The amazing combination of cherry, lime, and blue raspberry was invented by James S. Merritt and D.S. Abernethy in Kansas City, Missouri. As you'd expect, the birthday of the Bomb Pop was right in the middle of summer -- July 30, 1955.
When their company closed down, Wells' Dairy bought their Bomb Pops brand, and today they are made in a wide range of flavors including watermelon, Hawaiian Punch, and Jolly Rancher. Us? We'll stick with the original.
So whether you eat your Bomb Pop on National Bomb Pop Day or you show your red, white, and blue patriotism on the 4th of July, you should know that Bomb Pops are rooted in what you'd expect --
The heart of summer in the heartland of 1950s America.
